Soren's Birthday Photos Have been posted

We have lots and lots of pictures from Soren's birthday party-- a special thanks to my mom Peggy, her husband Ken and Marty's Mom karen for taking most of these pictures! All 307 pictures have been posted at our shutterfly website!

Happy Birthday Soren!

We had a fantastic day today and the rain held off for Soren's birthday party. He had Rio the horse here and many friends and family. It was the perfect day. It's time for bed and I'm sleepy, so I can't post all of the pictures, but here's a few that I have.

You can't see the John Deere T-shirt that grandpa picked out for the occasion--it's great!

Soren's friend Palmer couldn't come, but he let us borrow his slide. This was awesome!

Birthday Celebration begins......

Soren's first birthday card arrived in the mail today (he actually had a present arrive last week too, but we haven't shown that one to him). When we let him open the card he looked at it and asked where the gift was.....seriously? Does it really start this early?? How on earth do you teach your kids tact?

Here's a pic of the kids enjoying their new camping chairs. For some reason they REALLY love these chairs. Notice Kaia's outfit? Marty was flying solo this morning so he decided that her underwear to go under a dress would work as a pair of shorts with her shirt....

Also a quick story: tonight I came home a little later so Marty did daycare pickup. When I got home I asked Soren how daycare was today, misted of answering the question he leaned over, gave me a kiss, a big smile and then walked away. I'm pretty sure there's something that I'm missing about his day........ :).

Soren's First Night of Swimming Lessons

Tonight was Soren's first night of "wee tad"swimming lessons. Unfortunately due to a little accident at daycare (he ran into the puppet stand) he has a black eye for his big day! Mom has a cold sore, so between the two of us we look like a scary bunch. Soren did awesome in class tonight. I couldn't believe it was my child! He sat and listened to the instructor and was the "model kid" in class. Miss Mary kept telling the other two girls that they need to look at Soren and sit still like him! Wow!!

Kaia's become a stuffed animal hoarder. She can't travel unless she looks like this!

Kaia's first haircut

I've been so nervous to cut Kaia's hair, but today I decided that it was time for a little trim. Luckily we have the best stylist ever and I trust her very much. Jess is the only one who's ever cut both Soren and Kaia's hair. Here's a few shots from the day:

No pictures were taken when I was gone, but a few of these were taken before i left and a few were taken today when I got home.

A quick post

As most of you have heard, my friend Nicole lost her husband in a tragic accident on Friday night. The world lost an amazing man on Friday who will be missed by so many, especially his soulmate Nicole and their 1 year old daughter Shaelynn . I'll be leaving tomorrow to head over to her house so blog updates probably won't happen this week. As a tribute to Andy here's a couple of my favorite pictures from their wedding and a picture of Soren to make you smile and count your blessings.

Open wide!

Soren had his 2nd visit to the dentist this morning for a cleaning and check up. He was adorable and such a great patient! He goes to a pediatric dentist, so everything is geared for kids (playhouse in lobby, Dr Seuss bibs, kid decor, etc) so he loves going there. Me being the proud mom I am couldn't help but take pictures (I used my phone, I thought the slr would be a bit crazy). Here he is:

Soren Videos

This morning while Soren was putting his shoes on he was singing. This is actually more of an audio clip because you can't see him in the video, but listen to his song.
