Yeah, Grandpa's here!

The kids were super excited to come home from daycare and find Grandpa here. He's stopping by kn his way back up North for the summer.

I have a fee pictures, but first i have to share this story.... Tonight after Soren was done with "his smoke" he continued to watch Curious George and I say down on the loveseat with him. Then Marty started talking to us an he sat down too. Soren looks up at us and says "there are 2 couches!" Apparently we were too snuggled for his liking :)

Third time's a charm?

We took Soren back to the ENT today to get his opinion on the number of infections he's ha lately. As we suspected, he has a lot of fluid and the doctor wants to put the tubes back in and was willing to slide him into one of his emergency slots to get it done on May 12th. He's going to put a larger tube in this time, so there's a good chance they will stay in longer. They will also probably do some allergy tests while he is under anesthesia a well.

Soren was extremely grouchy at the doctor's office today. The last straw was when we were leaving and he said he wouldn't leave because he wanted to hear the sounds....yep, the kid has been there so often that he remembered that you sometimes get hearing tests there. They have stuffed animals that make noise in the testing room and he went on to describe each one. Yikes, time to ge the ears under control!

I downloaded my camera pictures today, so I have a few shots from the past week below.

Please excuse the icky dirty shirt :)

Kaia's Test Results

We got a call from Kaia's immunologist today to review the results of her blood work. Unfortunately the levels stayed the same or went down slightly. It's hard to really compare them directly to the last set because they were done at two different labs, but both labs deemed her results as being low IGG and IGA levels. So the plan is to do one last dose of antibiotics and then try to pull her off of them for the summer, but her doctor seemed a little less optimistic that we'd be able to go all summer, but thought it was worth a shot. We're really hoping that this deficiency is due to infancy and that she'll outgrow it so we were disappointed that the results don't prove that yet, but the doctor tried to reassure us that it's still a possibility. We just have to be okay with not having all of the answers.

Tuesday

Soren playing with his "drawing toy" at the doctor's office. He had to go back tonight because his ear is either infected again or didn't clear. Time to head back to the ENT.

Is it Sunday already?

All of us had a wonderful weekend, even Marty despite feeling really sick. Girls weekend was a huge success, and Soren and Marty had a great time catching up with the Weilands in Brainerd. I got a chance to complete a few projects with my favorite fabric after the camera strap, so the last picture shows those (my mom also made Kaia a pair of ruffled bloomers that I don't have pics of yet).

Girls weekend!

So the blog updates have slowed down this weekend because I've been busy with girls weekend! Soren and Marty headed up north to hang out with the Weilands and Kaia and I stayed here an my mom came to see us. It's been fantastic!!! We've been shopping nad seeing like crazy. We took a small break to get Kaia's picture taken in her Norweigen Bunad and a few other fun shots. They turned out great! We didn't have much time to take many pics of our own, but here's a few we managed to get:

It's so fantastic having the best seamstress in the world here to consult!!!

We had some success going back to the kids sale for 50% off night!

I love girls weekend!!!

My mom found this pattern and today we found a place that sells used camera straps today. We were able to disassemble the old ones and make our own new ones with style!

Soren's first crush

There are three kids in the age range of 3-4, 2 boys and 1 girl. So the battle has begun for Ashley's attention, every night when Ashley leaves Soren tells her that he loves her. On the weekends he tells me how much he misses her. Here's a few pics of them today:

Mother of the Year goes to....

Not me. Apparently I sent Soren to daycare today going comando. Not sure how I missed the undies but I did. Wow. Needless to say it's been a busy week and I'm not a morning person.

Tonight I ran to get groceries and came home just as Soren was supposed to be falling asleep. I went up to his room to say goodnight, he asked "remember when we talked about the owls and they say... He went on about that. Then he said "remember how you read me books??!!!". Then he proceeded to give me the biggest smile around. Book time was over a while ago, but he tried to trick me into round#2! He's a pretty smart little cookie.

Here's a few pics from the night.

Kaia was super excited to see Daddy down below!

We're still working on not standing on the table... Ugh

"But Mom Soren was doing it?"

Aghhh, it's almost over!

Below is a picture of what's been taking ALL of my free time lately-- a consignment sale. This was taken when I was unloading at the Southdale Mall tonight( you can't even see all of it!!!) All this stuff had to be hung and barcodes created. Needless to say it's been a ton of work but great to get out of the house! If you need baby/maternity/ kids stuff you should check out the old Mervyns this Wed-Sat!

Going to the Zoo, zoo, zoo

It was a beautiful day here, so we decided to take a trip to the zoo. We feel so lucky to have this place so close to our home, it's a great way to spend time together as a family.

Once again we told Soren he couldn't have something because he didn't have any money... He then went to the machine and was checking the money return slots!!!!! Fortune 500 here he comes....

A big bear hug :)

Kaia loved this slide!

Watching Soren do this made me realize that I'm not ready for him to grow up-- I was REALLY scared he was going to fall!!!! Marty is standing a ways back, so it's even taller then it looks.

Soren loved this bridge, and the fact that Mom and Dad couldn't get hi when he was up there.

Fun Day Today!

Kids are starting to feel better. We ran a couple of errands today and then had a 1st birthday party for Sonja (some of you my better know her as Palmer's sister). Here's a few pics from the day.
This is where Dakota likes to site when Kaia eats.... they're very good friends
Yes, he does look like he's ready for clown school. But what other time in life can you pull this look off?
My other clown.... Grandma Peggy got this dress for Kaia along with a matching one for her Bitty Baby
What's wrong with this picture? They're opening up the birthday girls present, but she's in bed!!

Friday

Soren's doing better, his eyes don't seem to hurt as much, but he broke a blood vessel somehow so it's very ugly. His cough still lingers but he's in good spirits. We decided that we needed to get out of the house, so went out to dinner.

One step forward, one step back

Today I got a call from daycare that Soren broke out in pink eye. I'm convinced it was from being in the Doctor's office last night, but they told me it could be due to the upper respiratory stuff he has going on. Regardless, the kids both need to be out of daycare tomorrow and at home. Marty and I are going to both do half days at work and each stay home with them a half day. Here's a few pics from tonight:

Yippee, It didn't rain tonight!

Soren's still dealing with his cough from 3 weeks ago, so he went back to his doctor this afternoon. He's back on the nebulizer or "his smoke" as he calls it, and has another ear infection. Despite the illness, he's acting like he feels fine, he's a really tough cookie. This is his 4th ear infection since Christmas, so we have to decide if it's time to see the ENT for his 3rd set of tubes....ugh. Here's a pic of my little trooper (i'm aitting with him writting this while he uses it) and a few from earlier tonight:
