What a fantastic Weekend!

-Is that Doggy Driving?
-This is yummy, I'm saving a piece for Grandpa (we were 3 hours from Grandpa and the food was hot)
- Look the ocean! (a small patch of water in the exit ramp)
-I have to go potty. Once we stop-- no I guess I don't.
- To a random customer in the gas station "I came in here to poop"
-I think we're lost! (after we'd been driving for a while, but not lost)
- We need a car wash!

We're going to post all of the 500+ pictures on our shutter fly site, but here are a few of our favorites:

Amazing day!

Today has been fantastic! We got up to Brainerd bright and early so I was able to have an awesome visit to the fabric store with my Mom, then we had a great lunch/visit/ mule ride with Dan, Karen and Nick. After all that we managed to get to Park Rapids in time to do some swimming and boating. Here's a few pics I have on my phone (the good ones are on my camera and will be posted mon/tues).

Dinner tonight!

I brought home pizza tonight and Kaia started flapping her arms saying "pizza.". We didn't know that she could say this word. Here she is saying it again later(she had been swimming at daycare so she looks a bit rough!):

Soren's Muscles

Despite the story above, Soren's been having a rough week both at home and at daycare. He's hitting the terrible two's and testing his limits. It's been frustrating for all of us. He no longer has his dinosaurs and is working towards getting them back one at a time. He's very crafty (and cute but he can't know that) with his apologies. He's perfected his smile, sorry and "hug, hug" so he can fool you.

Soren saw a Mommy and baby bunny tonight so he came home and drew them with chalk. Here's his drawing:

Why is the Mommy Rabbit not smiling?

Monday update

Yesterday I forgot to post this story from the weekend..... as I mentioned before Grandma Carrot (Karen) was here this and took care if the kids while Marty and I went to the twins game on Saturday night and then Marty's race on Sunday morning. Soren is for the most part completely potty trained, but had a tiny accident on Sunday morning. When Grandma Carrot went in to get him in the morning and noticed the accident he turned the tables on her and said "but you gave me milk!!". We don't give him any liquids right before bed, and grandma didn't either but somehow he thought he could convince her that the accident was caused by her..... Oh boy!

No kid pictures today, but I did manage to finish my quilted duffle bag that I've been working on, so here's a few pics of that:

Sunday afternoon

After the race we came home and had a great family day with the kids. Here's some shots from the afternoon:

Kaia reading books with Daddy

Soren really like the camera... It comes out and he yells "cheese!"

We made French toast for dinner and I let Soren do the egg cracking, mixing and bread dipping. He LOVES helping in the kitchen!

I'm not sure if Kaia loves to draw, or pretends she does because it's Soren's favorite thing to do.....he was outside at this time so she was able to use his favorite toy.

We let Soren cap off the night with a swim in his pool.

Gear West Dualthlon

Marty had a race today, so Karen kindly took the kids so we were able to go by ourselves. It's great having the kids there, but I can never truely enjoy the race or take pictures so going kidless was really great today. This was Marty's first race of the year so anything can happen, but he looked strong out there! His time was in line with last years, except instead of a slight chill like there was last year it was 74 degrees and very humid. Here are a few shots from today:

In T1 headed out on the bike

This was a great bike shot, so I had to play with it :)

Heading back towards t2

Final hill of the race

Ughhh.... It's over!

Awesome weekend!

This has been an absolutely fantastic weekend and birthday! Karen came down yesterday so Marty and I could go out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We decided to do it one night early because of Marty's race tomorrow. We went to our favorite "special occasion" place, Axel's. Before we headed to dinner we celebrated with the kids over a cake that Karen brought from the special cake place in Brainerd. Marty surprised me with a massage today while he and Karen took the kids to the zoo. This afternoon we went to the Twins game (with bonus innings). it was a beautiful day for checking out Target Field for the first time (after the rain stopped). The new field is amazing and we had lots of fun. Thanks to everyone for making today so special! Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today( we're missing some with Grandma Carrot, hopefully we can get some of those tomorrow!!!):
