Big girl bed!

Tonight Kaia informed us that she's a big girl and big girls don't sleep in cribs! It was hard to argue with her because she had her mind made up... I really wanted to argue because she's my baby (and it's only monday of a very busy week and I'm scared of no sleep)!!! I didn't let my selfish reasons show and decided to go with her on it. She was VERY excited, so excited that she made me skype Grandpa so he could see her in her big girl bed. So far so good....I'll give the full report tomorrow.

She's so proud (she's also a bit of a stuffed animal hoarder)!!


I snuck in her room after she fell asleep and got this picture...

** Upate: Kaia slept through the whole night (but Mom didn't out of fear that she was going to hear her fall out of bed). Kaia stayed in her bed this morning and waited for us to come and get her. However, this morning she started talking about trying her crib again but I think we're going to do our best to keep her in the big bed going forward....

Big Girl!

Kaia decided that she wants to be a big girl. We talked with her about the fact that when you're a big girl you don't use a plugger (pacifier) anymore. She said she was ready-- she packed up all of her pluggers and gave them to Quinny (a girl at daycare). Since the big pack-up she hasn't asked for one!! We're so proud of her!!

I just downloaded our videos and this is the first one that I looked at. I love how this captures Soren's reaction we saw time and time again during the week.

We're still trying to get caught up from our trip so we haven't had time for updates. But here's a few of my favorite pictures from our trip. We have 568 pictures that were taken, so it's going to take a while to sift through all of them! They're all loaded onto our Shutterfly website if you're really board or want a virtual trip to Disney and you have lots of time on your hands :)

Princess dinner in the castle

Kaia was really excited for her princess dinner tonight in the castle. The problem is that she doesn't speak in complete sentences. She kept yelling loudly on the bus- I eat princesses!! I eat princesses!!

Day 4

We're still running in high gear and spending very little time in our room. The kids are loving every single moment of being here and don't want to stop. Last night we hit the electrical parade, then epcot for the illuminations show (in the rain). Today we were at Epcot for lunch in The Canada steakhouse Le Cellier. Tonight we might try fantasmic and then the extra magic hours at Disney ( a perk for staying at a WDW resort). We'll see it's a tall order but the kids are enjoying it and being really good.

Day 3

Our lunch at T-Rex. One lesson learned.... Even if Soren insists don't take him on the scary Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom and them the T-Rex restaurant the next day.... He gets a bit jumpy. But he really enjoyed them both.

Day 1

The trip has been excellent so far! The kids were pretty good on the plane-- Kaia got really stir crazy for the last 45 min, but overall they were awesome! Nothing like our trip last year.

Today we went to the Chef Mickey's breakfast this morning to kick off the trip. Mickey, Minne, Donald, Pluto and Goofy were there. The kids couldn't eat they were so excited. We got them autograph books for today, Soren was all business, he wanted his autographs!

After breakfast we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. We rode on dumbo, Peter pan, winne the pooh, flying carpets, snow white, the carousel, and even toured Mickey and Minnesota house! Grandpa Dennis met us there. Now we're relaxing by the pool while grandpa and the kids nap :). So far this has been a "magical" trip :).

Kaia's all ready to go!

We were packing last minute things like the kids' blankets etc. this morning, so Kaia wanted to see where they would go. We've decided to trust her carrying a backpack, so here it is! Kaia insisted that she needs to show her stuffed Minne to Minne Mouse, so it looks like that along with Mickey (per Soren's request) will also be making the trip.

Kinda makes me wish I had bought smaller ones for Chirstmas….

Mrs. CareySue sent this picture to us this week. I thought it was adorable and worth sharing.

We leave on our vacation tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to snap a few pics along the way with my phone so I can post a few pictures on the trip. But I'm sure we'll have plenty to share when we return! The kids are beyond excited. When I explained to Soren that it would be warm enough for him to wear shorts this morning he looked at he with a puzzled look and said "but Mom, I don't know what to pack?" No worries Soren, I'll handle the packing :)
