Weekend update

Nice relaxing weekend for us-- here are a few pictures:

It's funny, they always seem to want the same toy at the same time... Hmm.

Whatever Kaia sees Soren do she does.....

Daddy's girl.....

This was actually taken the same night as the visors, but I had forgotten to pull it off of my camera.

Lego Land.... or not

I needed to run a quick errand at the mall of america so we decided to ask Soren if he wanted to go to Lego Land. He got super excited and started jumping up and down. He was in his PJ's from daycare so we told him he needed clothes on first, within 20 seconds he was completely naked and yelling that he needed clothes.

We got to the mall and walked in the front door and when Soren saw the Lego symbol he yelled "LEGO LAND" at the top of his lungs and started to clap his hands. We took three more steps and noticed a large wall around lego land..... that wall had the following sign on it:

By temp location they mean temp RETAIL location, not a temporary play place.

Does this remind anyone else of National Lampoon's Vacation? Wally World?

Sponge Bob was posing for pictures so we took Soren over there to meet him..... it was an okay trip, but he still a little bummed about those legos.

Grandma and Grandpa time

My mom and Ken came to visit a couple of weeks ago to watch the kids while Marty and I had a night out. I never got a chance to post the pictures- here are a few:

Our kids love their sunglasses (but only in the house). Kaia tells us that shes a star when she has them on, it's super cute. So here's a few oils of them playing around last night.

Cheese!

When I told Soren to put his arm around Kaia I was thinking more like her shoulder.....

Doesn't everyone play like this??

This wasn't the type of hug I was hoping for....

Purple Elephant 5K and Kid's run

We went up to Brainerd for a Family reunion this past weekend and I decided that it would be fun to do the Dru Sjodin Purple Elephant 5k while we were up there. Some of my family decided to join so it was bound to be a really fun race. This was going to be Marty's first race to spectate at while taking care of the kids. Instead, the race adrenaline got the best of him and he decided to sign up for the race too. He still kept up his end of the bargain and took care of the kids. He ran with them at ended up getting 5th overall and 1st in his age group! Soren and Kaia got a pretty sweet ride at 6:50 pace miles! People on the course were actually pointing and commenting on how crazy "that guy" was. They also had a kids race that Soren entered. He came in last, but he was the youngest kid. He has a little ways to go before he becomes a "runner."

Trip Pics round 2

Learning to fish with Daddy

Grandpa made Soren a special bee toy with an extra large stinger to try and "joke" about the bee incident (Soren was stung by a bee before this).

Ahhhh, Minnesota's best kept festival secret-- The Taste of Dorset. Nothing beats the food at this festival. The Nevis newspaper actually took Soren's picture eating this Monkey tail because everyone thought the "mess" was so cute.

Taste of Dorset-- okay so maybe a few people have heard the secret!!!
